Reuben lives on the lands of the Kulin nation

National Survivors’ Day is proud to welcome entrepreneur, sports industry professional and Survivor advocate Reuben Williams as a 2026 Ambassador, adding his voice to a growing national movement to recognise, support and stand alongside Survivors.

Reuben is the founder of SportsGrad, a platform he created after beginning his own dream career at Cricket Australia, helping others build careers in the sporting industry.

But alongside a career that took him behind the scenes of some of Australia’s biggest sporting moments, Reuben experienced something that would profoundly change his life.

While working at Cricket Australia, Reuben was sexually assaulted following a staff function.

His experience of reporting the assault and pursuing justice has led him to speak publicly about sexual violence, the barriers Survivors can encounter when seeking accountability, and the harmful assumptions that continue to surround who society recognises as a Survivor.  

In May 2026, Reuben discusses his decision to pursue justice with Hugh, Ryan and Josh at the Imperfects and what it felt like in the 24 hours after the assault and why he chose to report it.

For Reuben, becoming an Ambassador is an opportunity to help create a more informed and compassionate conversation about sexual violence and the experience of seeking justice.

Reuben's advocacy also challenges stereotypes surrounding male Survivors and the idea that there is a particular type of person who experiences sexual violence.

This year, Reuben will join National Survivors’ Day events and activities as an Ambassador, using his platform to encourage Australians to listen, learn and stand with Survivors.
