Evie

Evie lives on Bindal & Wulgurukaba Country (Townsville) and she is an absolute powerhouse.

From her earliest days, Evie has been intimately acquainted with the harrowing realities of domestic violence and sexual assault. Yet, far from allowing herself to be defined by victimhood, she has emerged as a fierce advocate and tireless champion for Survivors everywhere.

Through her relentless advocacy, she has created space in rooms that are traditionally closed to voices like hers, sitting at tables of power and influence, demanding accountability and driving forward progress.

Her journey is one marked by courage and conviction. From her upbringing in the shadows of domestic violence to finding refuge in shelters, from facing homelessness to surviving multiple instances of sexual assault, Evie's future is not restrained by what’s happened to her. She has faced the brutality of injustice head-on, confronting not only her own demons but also the systemic failures that perpetuate cycles of violence and silence.

Evie's story is not just one of survival, but of transformation, development and empowerment. With each fight she faces, she discovers the power and strength of her voice, the power of her convictions,

And now, as she steps into her role as Ambassador for National Survivors Day, she brings with her the unwavering resolve to amplify the voices of those who have been silenced, to shine a light on the shadows of trauma, and to pave the way for a future where survivors are not just heard, but empowered to thrive.

The confidence of a lion and the wisdom of lived experience, Evie Clayton embodies the spirit of National Survivors’ Day, the courage of advocacy, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow for survivors everywhere.

Join us in welcoming Evie as she continues to fearlessly lead the charge towards a world free from sexual assault and institutional abuse.
